Probing Light Fields with Neutron Stars

Jamie McDonald

Manchester

Neutron stars have some of the strongest magnetic fields in the Universe. In this talk we will show how this makes them powerful tools for indirect searches of axion dark matter and high frequency gravitational waves. Magnetic fields can turn these light fields into light, which can be searched for using a range of telescopes across the electromagnetic spectrum.
