- The Inaugural Lorne Trottier Public Science Symposium on Climate Change
and Energy was held at McGill University at New Residence Hall. The
symposium was made possible by the financial support of Lorne Trottier, a
major donor to McGill. The symposium featured a panel discussion and debate
among four internationally known scientists (Dr. Rom Duffey, Atomic Energy
Canada, Ltd.; Dr. Martin Hoffert, New York University; Dr. Amory Lovins,
Rocky Mountain Institute; Dr. Nebojsa Nakicenovic, University of Vienna),
and attracted 400 participants with an additional 200 participants via live
webcast.
