Codes and models
Giant planet models
Neutron star crust cooling
- crustpy - python code which calculates the thermal evolution of a neutron star crust. See this ipython notebook for an example.
- crustcool - follows the thermal evolution of a neutron star crust, used to model observations of accreting neutron stars in quiescence and the decline of magnetar outbursts.
Type I X-ray bursts
- burstcool - calculates cooling models of Type I X-ray bursts. These models assume that the nuclear burning occurs instantaneously at the beginning of the burst and then the layer cools. Used to model superbursts and long Type I bursts which are helium-powered.
- settle - ignition conditions for Type I X-ray bursts
- onezonerp - one zone model of rp-process burning on accreting neutron stars
- onezone - a simple one-zone model of Type I X-ray bursts written in python (ipython notebook)
Plasma freezing
- phase_diagram - calculates the phase diagram for a classical two-component plasma.
- phase_diagram_3CP - calculates the phase diagram for a classical three-component plasma.
