Conventional Mössbauer Spectroscopy.

The conventional arrangement shown here is for room temperature measurements by transmission.

We have furnaces that can be operated up to 1000 K and two helium-flow cryostats which can be run down to 1.7 K. The rightmost cryostat shown here contains a superconducting split-solenoid which permits transverse and longitudinal measurements in fields of up to 7 Tesla.

We also have a vibration-isolated closed-cycle refrigerator which can cool to 12 K.
