Dear colleagues,

                  in the framework of the 68th Acfas Congress (Association
canadienne-francaise pour l'avancement des sciences), the Interuniversity
Centre for Subatomic Physics in Montreal is preparing the colloquium

  "La boucle des infinis:  les particules elementaires et l'univers"
  "The Infinite Loop:  elementary particles and the universe"

The meeting (in French) will cover in a first part high energy
physics and heavy ion physics, and in a second part astroparticle
physics, gravitation and cosmology, as well as any related subject.
Emphasis will be put on the ever closer bounds between the world of the
infinitely small and the one of the infinitely large.

We hope that the second part of the colloquium (astroparticle physics,
gravitation and cosmology) can be organized jointly with the
astrophysics group of the University of Montreal, which are preparing
their own colloquium on instrumentation.  Indeed, the developments in
the few past years in both groups have been such that the physics
and the techniques overlap.  This should make for a new and interesting
session for all.

All interested persons are cordially invited to participate, faculty,
researchers or students in the field.  Students are especially
encouraged to take part.

So that the colloquium program can be ready within the Acfas deadlines,
please send me your abstract on January 16th at the latest.  For those
who might already have submitted an abstract to the general Physics
section of the congress, send me a copy and the communication will be
transferred later to the colloquium.
