Perfect Fluid Cosmologies in Null (Observational) Coordinates

Cosmological observations are usually examined within the standard Friedman-Robertson-Walker model. This model is based on the assumptions of global isotropy and global homogeneity and represents a good approximation of the Universe at very large scale. However, the Universe we observe at small and intermediate scales is lumpy and inhomogeneous. I will describe an approach and a theoretical framework where cosmological observations can be examined within an inhomogeneous perfect fluid model. A convenient set of coordinates is chosen for the model.
