X-ray Timing with the USA Experiment

Paul S. Ray

NRL

The USA Experiment is an X-ray timing experiment with large collecting area and microsecond time resolution that carried out a broad scientific program covering black hole and neutron star X-ray binaries, pulsars, AGN, and other bright X-ray sources. USA is one of nine experiments aboard the Air Force Advanced Research and Global Observation Satellite (ARGOS) which was launched February 23, 1999. I will present an overview of the USA instrument, observation history, and highlight some of the results from the ongoing analysis of the data archive.
