The Latest sin2beta measurement from BaBar

Owen Long

University of California at Santa Barbara

The CP-violating asymmetry in B0 decays to CP eigenstates containing charmonium is predicted with little theoretical uncertainty to be sin2beta, which is related to the elements of the Standard Model CKM quark mixing matrix. Results will be shown based on the analysis of 62 million B Bbar pairs collected by the BaBar experiment at the SLAC PEP-II B factory. Theoretical background, measurement techniques, interpretation of the result, and future prospects will be discussed.
