Informal Pizza SeminarColorful Quark-Gluon PlasmaStanislaw MrowczynskiSoltan Institute for Nuclear StudiesThe Quark-gluon plasma is usually assumed to be colorless not only globally but locally as well. However, when the momentum distribution of partons is anisotropic, as it happens at the early stage of relativistic heavy-ion collisions, the color fluctuations might be strongly amplified. Then, the plasma becomes colorful but unstable. We discuss the instability and speculate about its consequences for the heavy-ion collisions.
