Physical Society ColloquiumA State of the Universe ReportUros SeljakPrincetonI will review the current ideas and observational evidence for what the universe looks like, what is it made of, and why is it like that. I will focus particularly on the observations of large scale structure and cosmic microwave background anisotropies, describing recent progress in that area and discussing how these observations can teach us about the theories of the early universe such as inflation or string inspired cosmologies.
