D. Hanna McGill As a gamma ray astronomer wannabe, it behooves me to learn what I can about everything connected with this field and one of the most exciting topics is that of Gamma Ray Bursts. In this talk I will summarize what I have learned about gamma ray bursts, mostly from reading about them on the world wide web. I will describe some of the measurement techniques and go through the history of these mysterious objects including the recent successes at linking them with optical counterparts.
