Theoretical Physics Institute I review the status of searches for weakly-interacting massive particles (WIMPs) which may comprise a significant portion of the total mass of the Universe. I then consider some specific candidates for WIMPs: 1) neutralinos of Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model and 2) stable relics of phenomenologically viable supertsring models, and discuss existing experimental constraints on them.
