From AMANDA to Ice Cube
(one year at the South Pole)

The results of 1998-1999 operation of the Antarctic Muon And Neutrino Detector Array (AMANDA) and five other cosmic ray experiments are presented. Emphasis is made on the detailed view of the hardware design. Plans for the future transition to a new scale experiment - Ice Cube - are discussed together with the possibility of expanding Ice Cube collaboration.
