Effective Theories for Dense QCD

Dr. Paulo Bedaque

Institute for Nuclear Theory
University of Washington

We discuss the phase diagram of cold, dense matter and, in particular, the formation of superconducting gaps. It is shown how effective field theories for the low lying modes are used both as a calculational tool and as a source of insight in the dynamics of the system.
