Thermal de Sitter and the Swampland

Alek Bedroya

Harvard

The puzzling coincidence between the maximum dS lifetime predicted by Trans-Planckian Censorship Conjecture (TCC) and the scrambling time suggests a deeper connection between the Swampland program and the thermal aspects of dS. The goal of the talk is to take a step in the direction of bridging this gap. After reviewing some Swampland conjectures, I will discuss the thermalization process in dS through different lenses and interpret the results in light of Swampland conditions. I will show the swampland conditions suggest the thermal interpretation of dS is problematic.
