Holographic Description of AdS2

Alejandra Castro

University of Michigan

The near horizon geometry of extremal black holes universally contains an AdS2 factor. Therefore one expects that quantum nature of black holes is governed by the dual theory of AdS2. In this talk I will discuss the holographic renormalization of AdS2 following the procedures of AdS/CFT correspondence in higher dimensions. This gives us a framework to study the asymptotic symmetry group, and compute the boundary stress tensor. As a result we find an enhanced Virasoro algebra and its central charge.
