Recent progress in brane-antibrane inflation and uplifting

Jim Cline

McGill University

I will review models of brane-antibrane inflation in a warped Klebanov-Strassler throat (KKLMMT), with emphasis on their difficulties for giving a flat enough potential. I will show that superpotential corrections, which were formerly assumed capable of flattening the potential, do not help. However they can be used to lift AdS string theory vacua to Minkowski space in a better way than in the KKLT model.
