Determinant operators in N=4 SYM

Frank Coronado

ETH-Zuric

In this talk I will consider correlation functions of half-BPS determinant operators in the planar limit of maximal supersymmetric Yang-Mills (SYM). These local operators are holographic dual to D3 branes extended in a S3 subspace inside AdS5 × S5 and are commonly known as giant graviton branes. In the first part of this talk, I will describe a four-point function of two determinants and two stress-tensor operators in the limit when the operators are sent to the corners of a 4d light-like square. By solving the crossing equation in the large spin limit, I will relate the anomalous dimension of non-protected operators dual to open strings, with the OPE coefficient of non-protected operators dual to closed strings. In the second part of this talk, I will consider the logarithm of the giant graviton as the generating function of all protected single-trace operators (dual to the graviton and its KK modes in AdS5 × S5). I will show the correlation function of these operators have ten dimensional poles which combine spacetime and the internal R-charge distances. By taking the residue at these 10d poles I will define 10d light-like polygons and conjecture they are “T-dual” to massive amplitudes in the Coulomb branch of SYM.
