Some aspects of cosmic superstrings in brane inflation

Hassan Firouzjahi

McGill

In models of brane inflation, cosmic superstrings are copiously produced. In this talk I will review the question of strings forming a junction and study their observational consequences for CMB and for lensing. Also I will discuss the dominant method of energy loss by a loop of cosmic D-string in models of warped brane inflation. I argue that the power radiation by Ramond-Ramond field can dominate by many orders of magnitude over power radiation by gravitational wave emission. The cosmological consequences are reviewed.
