A Holographic Superconductor

Chris Herzog

Princeton University

The notion of a quantum critical point may be important for understanding certain low temperature properties of real world materials such as high temperature superconductors. The effective field theory description of a quantum critical point may be strongly interacting and conformal. Such systems are well adapted for study holographically through the AdS/CFT correspondence. We will use the correspondence to model the large Nernst effect in high Tc superconductors and also to model a superconducting phase transition.
