S-matrix as a boundary observable

Diksha Jain

Tata Institute

In this talk, I will argue that the flat space S-matrix can be computed using the "On-shell Action as a functional of boundary values". In this sense, S-matrix can be thought of as a boundary observable. We analyze constraint given by S-matrix unitarity on the boundary action. Finally I will discuss various properties of this boundary action in position space for both massive and massless particles.
