Gravity duals to boundary subsets

Joanna Karczmarek

UBC

In the context of the AdS/CFT correspondence, consider the following question: If one fixes the state on a portion of a boundary and allows the state on the complement of this portion to vary, which patch of the bulk space will the resulting gravitational duals have in common? In addition to discussing this question in general, I will also describe a particular example: a gravity dual to a boundary Rindler wedge.
