Spacetime graininess, UV/IR mode mixing and Non-Gaussian statistics in the CMB

We will discuss recent work (in progress) that explores the possible imprints of non-trivial spacetime structure on the CMB. In particular, we will revisit the Trans-Planckian problem of inflationary cosmology and discuss how the higher point correlation functions of the CMB are sensitive to aspects of various string motivated modifications to geometry (at high energies) which the power spectrum has previously been found to be insensitive to.
