Seminar in Hadronic PhysicsPlasma Instabilities in the Melting Color Glass CondensatePaul RomatschkeBielefeld UniversityThe processes driving equilibration of systems formed in ultra-relativistic heavy-ion collisions currently under way e.g. at RHIC are still poorly understood. Recently, plasma instabilities in non-Abelian systems were proposed as a possible key element in these equilibration processes. I will show how these plasma instabilities manifest themselves in numerical simulations based on Color Glass Condensate initial conditions and will discuss what can be learned from such studies.
