Jet energy loss in stable and unstable non-Abelian plasmas

I present results for collisional and soft radiative energy loss and momentum broadening of high momentum partons in a hot and dense non-Abelian plasma obtained by solving the coupled system of Wong-Yang-Mills equations on a lattice in real time. Including hard elastic collisions among the particles we find a cutoff independent result for collisional energy loss and momentum broadening. The transport coefficient q-hat gets a sizeable contribution from a power-law tail in the transverse momentum distribution of the high-momentum partons. The radiation of soft gluons leads to an order of magnitude larger energy loss than elastic collisions. Furthermore, I present the effects of instabilities on jet-broadening in an anisotropic plasma.
