Informal Pizza SeminarString Theory and CosmologyHorace StoicaMcGillThis talk is a colloquium-style presentation of the physics at the interface between String Theory and Cosmology. String Theory provides a top-down approach for constructing models of the early universe. One can study the prediction of these models and compare them with the experimental data obtained from observations of the Cosmic Microwave Background. The observational data is already constraining the possible models, and in the future it is expected to provide even more handles that will allow for discriminating between different models of the early universe.
