Physics at the edge - soft matter and its interfaces

Steve Granick

University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign

Soft matter has flourished in recent years, due in no small part to its conveniently accessible energy, time, and length scales, and also to the drive to understand living systems. The underlying physics is surprisingly subtle and complex. This talk will present vignettes of my laboratory's recent studies of water, phospholipids, and nanoparticles.
