New physics Phenomenology at the LHC

A number of new physics scenarios are envisioned for possible discovery at the LHC. Most are fundamentally distinct, although first data may fit many different models. I explain the generic features of a few scenarios, outline the work which must be performed to distinguish them and clearly identify the nature of the discovery, and highlight some recent work toward this goal.
