Speakers

Preeti Chalsani

Dr. Preeti Chalsani received her undergraduate studies at Yale Univeristy in applied physics and her PhD from Cornell University, where she focused her research in the area of spintronics. Upon completion of her studies, she worked as a Professor in the Physics Department at Dawson College in Montreal, Canada as well as an NSERC visiting fellow. Dr. Chalsani currently works as a technical advisor in patent law for the BCF business law cabinet in Montreal.

Janelle Morrier

Dr. Morrier is a medical physicist at Centre hospitalier universitaire de Québec. She received her Master's Degree from Laval Univeristy in medical physics. Previously, Dr. Morrier has also worked as a medical physicist at the Centre de Santé et Services Sociaux of Chicoutimi.

Annick Routhier-Labadie

Annick Routhier-Labardie completed her undergraduate studies in physics, premedical and writing at Seton Hall University, located in South Orange Village, New Jersey. She subsequently received a D.E.S.S. in applied ethics at Laval University. She then earned a Rhodes Scholarship,, from which she received a masters degree in biomedical engineering at Oxford Univeristy. She currently works as an associate consultant for McKinsey & Company, a global management consulting firm.

Lia Merminga

Lia Merminga began her studies at the University of Athens, where she completed her Bachelors degree. From there, Dr. Merminga went on to complete two master's degrees, one in physics and the other in mathematics. She received her PhD at the Univseristy of Michigan. Dr. Merminga's previous appointments include working as a visiting accerator physicist at the Standford Linear Accelerator Center and as a staff scientist at the Thomas Jefferson National Accelerator Facility. In 2002, she was promoted as Director of the Centre for Advanced Studies of Accelerators. Today, she is the Head of the TRIUMF Accelerator Division.
