Unlike computer graphics "trickery" that one finds in video games and films, the above simulation uses clouds with statistical properties which are highly realistic at all scales in both horizontal and vertical directions. In addition, the radiative transfer is also realistic even if only accurate for optically thin clouds (since only single scatter was taken into account).
